Dice Tactics (GMTK Game Jam 2022)
A downloadable game for Windows
Disclaimer: this was my first solo Game Jam and I had the stupid idea of changing the main mechanic halfway through.
The game turned out incomplete and buggy, but it should be enough to show what I had in mind.

HOW TO PLAY
At the start of each round, every character will roll their dice. Dice faces have values and colors.
Place your dice on character slots to control their attributes for the rest of the round:
- INITIATIVE: will determine the turn order (higher values act first)
- MOVEMENT: max tiles covered by the character's movement
- ATTACK: damage dealt by the character's attack
During their turns, characters will be able to move multiple times according to their movement stat, but will only attack once.
CLASS TALENT
Change the outcome of the dice once per round for every character: the warrior can increase or decrease a value, the ranger can reroll a die, the mage can change a face color. Drag dice on the talent icons to activate.
SKILLS AND ITEMS
Use specific color combinations to unleash powerful skills, and follow number conditions to take advantage of items
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
I wasn't able to implement most of the stuff I had in mind for the Jam due to time costraints, but here are some ideas I would love to include in the game:
- Status Effects that change color and value of dice faces (Curse: turn a die grey, Weaken: decrease all numbers by 1)
- Character progression: upgrade your dice, increase number of dice rolled, learn new skills, etc.
- Smarter enemies that place their dice based on their skills/items
- New classes with different talents, like a support that can lend one die to allies or an illusionist that can copy other dice
